Watch out for destructive toys for children

When parents walk into a toy store, the choice is so great that they get lost. They can’t tell the difference between a constructive and a destructive toy. Nowadays, more and more parents are thinking about their children’s education from an early age and are concerned about the toys they acquire for their children.

There are several ways to differentiate a good toy from a bad one.

Toys that include false representations of the real world do not allow for the learning of basic concepts that a child should know before the age of 6. The potato man, the mushroom house… are examples of toys that do not represent reality. Does a potato talk? Is it a mushroom found in nature or a house built by human beings? Be careful, this does not mean that the child should not let his imagination run wild, to dream… That said, several concepts at once (man and potato, house and mushroom, sponge and eyes, tree and arm…) shake up the neurons of the baby and upset him in his learning process.

There are also superhero toys with magical powers where the child can hurt himself or his friend by reproducing the same actions.

Finally, there are toys that are dangerous for children in the sense that they do not respect the standards. That is why it is necessary to make sure that the toy is certified european and that it respects the basic safety rules: physical and mechanical properties, flammability and chemical properties. A warning notice is sometimes necessary to protect babies and children in general against any risk.
